Every morning I cook a pot of lemongrass, bồ kết and pomelo leaf. Your hair wash starts from that pot.
Chi grew up beside her aunt’s hair-wash stall in Cần Thơ. At Lụa Spa since 2023, she does every herbal hair wash and head spa, and shares the face massage with Hân.
How she works
Each morning Chi brews the herbal water for the day’s washes from lemongrass (sả), bồ kết (a soap pod long used for hair in Vietnam) and pomelo leaf (lá bưởi). Gội đầu dưỡng sinh, the herbal hair wash, means exactly that: a wash in that water with a scalp and neck massage. Chi checks the water temperature before the first rinse and asks how firm you want her fingers on your scalp. She makes no claims about what the herbs do for your hair; it is warm water that smells of lemongrass and pomelo, and someone working slowly.
The sessions she does
- Herbal hair wash: 45 minutes (360,000 VND), 60 minutes with shoulders (480,000 VND), and the full herbal head spa, 90 minutes (720,000 VND).
- Face massage, 45 minutes (590,000 VND), including on Mondays when Hân is off.
- Herbal foot soak and foot massage, 60 minutes (490,000 VND).
- The hair wash and face massage in the Light Afternoon package, and the hair wash in the For Two package.
Chi writes the journal pieces on herbal hair washing, first spa visits and the four-count breathing exercise, among them herbal hair wash: 45 or 60 minutes.
Working days
Monday, Tuesday, then Thursday to Sunday, 10:00 to 21:30. She is off on Wednesdays, so there are no herbal hair washes on a Wednesday.
