You lie on the wash bed with your neck on a cushion. 2. **First herbal rinse**10 minHair wetted and washed with the herbal water Chi made that morning (lemongrass, bồ kết soap pods, pomelo leaf), then rinsed. 3. **Scalp massage**12 minFingertip massage of the scalp from the forehead back to the nape, slowly, in time with your breathing. 4. **Neck massage**8 minBoth sides of the neck and the nape, while the herbal water stays in your hair. 5. **Second rinse**5 minA second rinse with warm herbal water, then a final rinse with plain water. 6. **Towel dry**5 minHair dried with a towel and wrapped, and you sit up slowly. The 45-minute wash has no blow dry. Gội đầu dưỡng sinh is how Vietnamese people say herbal hair wash: hair washed in water brewed from herbs, with a scalp and neck massage. The steps above are this session. Chi brews the herbal water each morning from lemongrass (sả), bồ kết (a soap pod used for hair in Vietnam) and pomelo leaf (lá bưởi). ## The 60-minute wash, 480,000 VND Everything in the 45 minutes, then 15 minutes of shoulder massage after the wash. If you want head and shoulders in one hour, this is the neatest way; for neck and shoulders alone there is the 45-minute neck and shoulder massage at 490,000 VND. Not in either: blow dry, hair mask, colour or cut. We make no promises about your hair or scalp. ## Who does it [Chi](/en/therapists/nguyen-thi-kim-chi) does every herbal hair wash. She grew up beside her aunt’s hair-wash stall in Cần Thơ and works Monday, Tuesday and Thursday to Sunday (off on Wednesdays). The wash itself is the same: two herbal rinses, scalp and neck massage, towel dry. The 60-minute session adds 15 minutes of shoulder massage. The difference is 120,000 VND (360,000 against 480,000 VND). ### Is my hair blow-dried? Not in the 45 or 60-minute wash; your hair is towel dried.
