The person you chose is the person who does your session. We never swap them for someone else without calling you first. I am Tài, a body massage therapist at Lụa Spa (lụa means silk) since 2024, working Wednesday to Sunday. I am the only male therapist here, so I hear the question often, sometimes from people who are not sure how to ask in a new country. This note answers it: where to choose, what to say, and who is in on which day. ## Booking online The [booking page](/en/book) has three steps: 1. Pick the session. Its length sets how long your slot is. 2. Pick the person: a name, or “female”, “male”, “any”. 3. Pick a free time. Only times when your choice is free are shown. With “any”, the system takes the first therapist who is free. For body massage that can be Hằng or me, and the confirmation names the person. If you would not be comfortable with a man (or with a woman), do not leave it on “any”. Pick the gender in step two. You never have to give a reason. Book at least 3 hours and up to 45 days ahead. The request stays pending until the front desk confirms by phone or on Zalo (the messaging app most people in Vietnam use). ## Booking by phone or Zalo Call 0963 929 241 or message on Zalo, in English or Vietnamese, and give three things: the session, the day, the therapist. These are enough: - “A 90 minute body massage on Saturday afternoon, female therapist, please.” - “With Tài, firm pressure.” - “Anyone is fine, but I need light pressure.” The last one is a complete answer too. Every therapist can adjust pressure, so many clients give only the pressure and let us choose the person. ## Who does what, and on which day Choosing a gender only matters for sessions that both a man and a woman do. Prices include 8% VAT; no tip is expected. Working days matter as much as gender: - Monday and Tuesday: only Hằng does body massage. For a male therapist, choose Wednesday onwards. - Wednesday to Saturday: both Hằng and I are in. - Sunday: I am the only one doing body massage. For a female therapist, choose Monday to Saturday. Chi still does foot soaks on Sundays. If you pick “female” for a body massage on a Sunday, the page shows no times. Nothing is broken; there is just no one that day. ## Pressure is not about gender Many people assume a man means firm pressure. Not quite. Clients who like firm pressure do often ask for me, but Hằng has fourteen years of massage behind her and does firm as well as light. I do light pressure for anyone who wants it. Our body massage starts at medium. In the 5 minute talk at the start, say light, medium or firm. During the session, say “lighter” or “firmer” any time. If something hurts rather than just feels firm, tell me at once and I stop on that area. Tạ Minh Thư, a chief accountant who works in Phú Mỹ Hưng, booked a 45 minute neck and shoulder massage (490,000 VND) with me on a Thursday at 12:30\. She chose me by name, asked for medium on the neck and firmer on the shoulders. In her words: “I booked 12:30 and was back at my desk at 13:15.” An illustrative story for a demo site; figures are made up. ## How a male therapist works with female clients I take male and female clients who choose me. With women, and in fact with everyone, I keep to the same few things: - I leave the room while you change, knock, and wait for your answer before coming in. - A towel covers you. I uncover only the part I am working on, then cover it again. - Before moving to a new area, I say which one. Any area you asked me to avoid, I leave alone. - If you say “stop”, I stop. No reason needed. If you would rather book Hằng next time, just choose her. Nobody asks why. ## How we do it at Lụa Spa - You choose the therapist in step two: a name, “female”, “male” or “any”. If they fall ill, the front desk calls so you can choose another person or another time. - Change or cancel free until 12 hours before (6 hours for membership card holders). - In the Light Afternoon and Still packages, the body massage is done by Hằng or me; say which gender you want when you book. - Minutes are time in the room with your therapist, including the 5 minute talk.
